The VALMEX® product line
In 1837, the company’s founder Valentin Mehler never would have dreamt that his name would one day parent the world’s most well-known brand of coated technical textiles in the premium segment. Unmistakable quality products, the latest generation of which is primarily used in textile architecture and other high-end specialist applications, have been produced under this brand since 1938.
Thus tradition and modernity are in perfect unison during the continuous developmental work at the company.

The POLYMAR® product line
Development staff from Hammersteiner Kunstleder GmbH (HAKU) in Wuppertal had the right intuition as early as the mid 20th century: fabrics with a thermoplastic coating were set to become very important technical textiles in the future.
For this reason, in 1953 the company decided to trademark the brand name POLYMAR®, which is based on the PVC polymerisation process. Over many decades and with an eventful history, this HAKU brand has become synonymous with premium standards in the coating industry. POLYMAR® is now manufactured at all our locations in many variations and colours.
- AIRTEX®

The AIRTEX® product line
Lightweight products that are in harmony with their environment play an essential and seemingly ‘floating’ role in sun protection. Our AIRTEX® brand name picks up on precisely this association. AIRTEX® materials are lightweight grades with a very textile appearance for various sun protection applications.
More than 40 years of experience in manufacturing technical textiles, usually as PVC-free variants, has meant that a positive light has always shone on AIRTEX® products – especially when the sun is shining.
- PLASTEL®

The PLASTEL® product line
Coating tradition has existed at our Czech site in Lomnice nad Popelkou since 1967, under the company name Technolen. The brand name PLASTEL® was created at that time and its origin is closely linked to the word stem thermoplastic. Fabrics coated with PVC on both sides have been marketed under this brand ever since.
PLASTEL® still proves itself as being synonymous with cost-effective materials with a defined quality standard right up to the present day.
