Port Włocławek

It is difficult to say which of the apparently independent objects was more inspiring for the whole architecture. Either way, it’s pretty clear that both designs come from the same firm of architects and have led to an excellent result.
The boathouse is situated on the Vistula River near the old town of Włocławek.
A nearby bridge forms a further part of the design and, together with the boathouse, it has the chance
of becoming a recognised symbol of the city. The membranes in the roof and the wooden façades of the service building are reminiscent of Wloclawek’s port history. The building, with its suspension bridge, does not compete with the historic panorama of the old city. For the many cyclists, the boathouse and the bridge are popular places and the missing link between the town centre and the backwaters.
