Hangar, Antarctica

In the Chilean Antarctic an hangar with a steel frame was installed. This rapidly deployable system is used to host Chilean Air Force aircraft. The project was made by Tarpulin in Chile.

The logistical challenge was to deal with the extreme weather conditions and the extreme location. The Antarctic is known for its icy temperatures, strong winds and inhospitable environment. A solution had to be found that was not only powerful and hard-wearing, but also quickly ready deployed to use.

Trust in Mehler Texnologies’ materials and the extensive expertise of Tarpulin’s research and development team, resulted in one of the most successful projects in the company’s history. The hangar not only provides protection for the aircraft, but also ensures the safe storage of maintenance equipment.

The Chilean Air Force can now count on a reliable infrastructure that protects its aircraft from the extreme conditions of Antarctica while increasing the efficiency of its operations.
