11/24/2009 - New projects in Saudi Arabia

The ever-increasing number of projects being chalked up by Mehler Texnologies Middle East is proof positive that providing protection from the sun in one of the hottest country's on earth is not a luxury, but a necessity. Recently, for example, parasol-style sunshades were installed over the new car park at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Thuwal near Jeddah. The fabric used for the shades was VALMEX® FR 900 type II in white and beige. The total area adds up to 21 thousand square metres. A series of pavilions have also been erected on the campus to provide shade from the sun during breaks between lectures. Due to their conical shape and the associated higher degree of tension the material chosen for these VALMEX® FR 1000 was type III. The total area of the materials used is 7 thousand square metres.
In a newly created park in Ad Damman, a port on the Persian Gulf, a pagoda-style tent has been erected with a tilting central pole. The material used for this is POLYMAR shades S 900 in white, yellow, red and blue. The interplay of colours is reminiscent of a circus tent and forms a pleasing contrast to the park's green and sandy tones. Quality 'Made in Germany' has a good reputation in Saudi Arabia. This was demonstrated by the keen interest in Mehler Texnologies' products shown to visitors at the Saudi Build trade fair. The fair took place in Riyadh in October and Mehler Texnologies was there as an exhibitor as part of a joint display by companies from the Federal Republic of Germany.
